The American Harp Institute was founded by Yolanda Kondonassis as a gathering place for harp study and resources, as well as programs, private lesson opportunities, and educational events. With a strong philosophy of clear musical and technical guidance, AHI’s goal is to provide high quality, accessible study for harpists seeking to develop and refine their skills at the harp, whether offered in-person or virtually.

After a successful ten-day program in 2022 in Hancock, Maine (known as the Maine Coast Harp Institute) and another memorable summer session in 2023 at The Cleveland Institute of Music (known as the North Coast Harp Institute), Kondonassis decided to separate the name of the Institute from any specific location so as to allow for more geographic flexibility in the planning of events.

Now to be permanently known as the American Harp Institute, Kondonassis looks forward to presenting programs for harpists in a variety of interesting locations, wherever inspiration and opportunity calls.
